The Munich man in heaven
In Munich, everyone knows Alois Hingerl. He is the title character of the humorous satire The Munich Man in Heaven by Ludwig Thoma.
Since its publication in 1911, everyone has laughed at the heavenly story of the Munich native. Alois Hingel is the poor servant with the number 172 and the title character of the humorous satire. As he died, he came to heaven and was called angel Aloisius. The character of Angel Aloisius is not easy to understand for the other angels. He drives even Peter and God crazy with his grumpiness.
The solution for everyone: Angel Aloisius is sent back to Munich. Before sending, he gets the order, to convey divine advice to the Bavarian government. In the original by Thoma, he was sending directly to Anton von Wehner. He was the Bavarian State Minister of the Interior for Church and School Affairs. Unfortunately, the angel Aloisius now becomes Alois again. And before he can carry out his mission, he first visits the Munich Hofbräuhaus. He orders one beer after another and is still sitting there today. And the Bavarian government or rather, the Bavarian Minister of Culture is still waiting for divine advice.
The Bavarian Radio cartoon from 1970 is very popular.
